The Mold Men LLC
Effective date: October 12, 2026 · Last updated: October 12, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what The Mold Men LLC (“The Mold Men,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects when you visit www.mold-men.com (the “Site”), contact us, or hire us for mold inspection, remediation, crawl space, junk removal or cleanout services (the “Services”), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
We are a local service company based in Louisville, Kentucky. We collect the information we need to answer your request, inspect and work on your property, get paid, keep records and run the business. We do not sell your personal information, and we never will.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us. When you call, text, email, book an appointment, submit the quote form or hire us, we may receive your name, phone number, email address, property address or ZIP code, the service you need, your preferred contact method, your message, and any photos you choose to send. If you hire us, we also collect the details needed for the Written Scope, billing and warranty records: property details, inspection findings, photographs and moisture readings of the property, signatures, invoices and payment status.
Payment information. Payments are processed by our third-party payment provider. We receive confirmation of payment and the last four digits of a card, but your full card number is entered on the provider's secure page and is not stored on our systems.
Information collected automatically. When you use the Site, we and the service providers listed below collect standard technical information: IP address, device and browser type, operating system, screen size, pages viewed, time on page, the page that referred you, approximate location derived from IP address, and how you interact with pages (clicks, scrolls, mouse movement and form interaction). Some of this is collected through cookies and similar technologies described in section 4.
Information from other sources. If you contact us through Google, Yelp, Angi, Facebook or Nextdoor, those platforms share your message and public profile information with us. If you are referred by someone in our referral program, the referrer gives us your name and contact information so we can reach you and credit the referral.
What we do not collect. We do not ask for or knowingly collect Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, government ID numbers, bank account numbers or health information. If you share health information with us, we use it only to understand your request and do not store it in marketing or analytics systems.
2. How we use your information
We use personal information to: respond to your request, schedule inspections and work, and send the inspection report and Written Scope; perform the Services, document the property before, during and after work, and support project records; send invoices, process payments and keep accounting records; call, text or email you about your own request, appointment, project or invoice; send marketing messages only if you have separately opted in; operate, secure and improve the Site, understand which pages and campaigns bring people to us, and fix problems; administer the referral program; comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements; and protect the safety of our crew, our customers and our business. We do not use personal information for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
3. Who we share information with
We share personal information only as described here. Service providers who work for us may include companies that host the Site (Vercel), provide email and calendar (Google Workspace), process payments, provide electronic signatures, provide customer relationship and scheduling software, send text messages on our behalf, and provide analytics and advertising measurement. These providers may use your information only to provide their service to us.
When you order air quality or surface testing, samples are sent to an accredited third-party laboratory. The lab receives the sample, the sampling location and a job reference. We share your name or address with the lab only when required for the report. If part of a project requires another trade, we share the property address and relevant scope with that contractor. We provide documentation to your insurance company, adjuster or lender when you ask us to.
We disclose information when required by law, subpoena or court order, to protect the rights, property or safety of any person, to enforce our agreements, or in connection with a sale, merger or reorganization of our business. For anything else, including publishing photos of your property, a review or a case study, we ask first. We do not sell personal information, share it with data brokers, or share phone numbers or text message opt-in information with third parties for their own marketing.
4. Cookies, analytics and advertising measurement
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies for essential functions, analytics and advertising measurement. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking them may affect some Site features. We do not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals, but we do honor the opt-outs described below.
We use Vercel Web Analytics, Microsoft Clarity and Google Tag Manager. Clarity may record clicks, scrolls, mouse movement, page sequences and device information and may replay an anonymized session. Clarity masks text typed into form fields by default, and we configure it not to capture quote-form contents or uploaded photos. Google Tag Manager may load Google Ads conversion tracking, and Microsoft Advertising may use conversion measurement tools. We do not use these tools to build profiles for sale or to show ads about health conditions.
You can opt out of Clarity by blocking cookies from clarity.ms, opt out of personalized advertising from Google at adssettings.google.com and from Microsoft at account.microsoft.com/privacy/ad-settings, and opt out of interest-based advertising generally at optout.aboutads.info. Pages that link to Google Maps, Google Calendar scheduling, YouTube or review platforms may set cookies from those services when you use them. We will update this section when we add or remove a tool.
5. Calls, texts and email
When you give us your phone number and ask us to contact you, we may call or text you about your request, inspection, scheduled work, invoice or project. By selecting “Text message” as your preferred contact method or by texting us first, you agree to receive these texts. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies. Reply STOP to stop receiving texts at any time; reply HELP for help. We will send one final message confirming your opt-out. We do not send texts before 8 AM or after 9 PM in your time zone except in response to a message you sent us.
We send promotional texts or emails only if you have separately opted in. Consent to marketing messages is never a condition of buying anything from us. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and every marketing text includes STOP instructions. We honor opt-outs within ten business days, and usually immediately. We do not share phone numbers or SMS consent information with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes.
6. Photos and property documentation
We photograph and document properties before, during and after work. These records support quality control, insurance documentation and our legal obligations. Photos that could identify your property, your address or you are not published or used in marketing without your separate written permission. If you give permission and later change your mind, email info@mold-men.com and we will stop using the photos going forward.
7. How we protect information
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards, including HTTPS encryption on the Site, access controls on our business accounts, two-factor authentication where available, and reputable providers for hosting, payments and signatures. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security. If we learn of a breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by Kentucky, Indiana or other applicable law.
8. How long we keep information
Quote requests and inquiries that do not become jobs: up to 24 months, so we can follow up and recognize repeat inquiries. Customer records, Written Scopes, inspection reports, photographs, invoices and payment records: for the period required for tax, accounting and legal purposes, generally at least seven years. Analytics and advertising measurement data: according to each provider's retention settings, generally 2 to 26 months, in aggregated or pseudonymous form. Text message consent records: for as long as you are opted in plus four years, so we can prove consent. You can ask us to delete information sooner, but we may keep what we are required to keep by law or need to resolve disputes.
9. Your choices and rights
You can ask what personal information we hold about you and receive a copy; ask us to correct information that is wrong; ask us to delete information, subject to records we must keep; opt out of marketing texts and emails; withdraw permission for marketing use of photos or testimonials; and opt out of analytics and advertising cookies as described in section 4.
To make a request, email info@mold-men.com with “Privacy request” in the subject line, or call 502-387-8161. We will verify that the request comes from you and respond within 45 days. We will not treat you differently for making a request. The Mold Men is a small local business that does not meet the size thresholds of the Kentucky Consumer Data Protection Act, the Indiana Consumer Data Protection Act, the California Consumer Privacy Act or similar state laws. We offer the rights above to everyone anyway.
10. Children
The Site and the Services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13, and we do not direct the Site to children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email info@mold-men.com and we will delete it.
11. Where information is stored
We are located in Kentucky and our providers store information in the United States. If you use the Site from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and handled in the United States under this Policy.
12. Links to other sites
The Site links to Google, Yelp, Angi, Facebook, Nextdoor, the EPA, the IICRC and other sites. Their privacy policies, not ours, govern information you provide to them.
13. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy. The “Last updated” date shows the current version. If we make a material change in how we use personal information we already hold, we will post a notice on the Site and, where practical, contact you directly. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated Policy.
